MUST SEE

Bollywood, oh Bollywood!

Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar (played by Hrithok Roshan) is a Muslim Mughal king seeking to unite the entire Hindustani (modern day India) under his rule. To appease the Hindu Rajput clan however, he agrees to marry one of their princesses, Jodhaa (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), only to discover that she isn't the wilting willow he thought she was. Intelligent, beautiful and defiant, Jodhaa herself struggles to preserve her identity in the face of religious resentment from the Muslim clerics at court and others opposed to their marriage.

This movie is definitely a MUST SEE. Why?
1) Hrithik Roshan is HOT HOT HOT. I mean HOT. If you though Hugh Jackman or Ryan Reynolds was hot, Hrithik Rosham is burn baby burn. Yeah.
2) The love story is @@ OOH!
3) It's not just a love story- it's rather obvious that the producers of the film have an ulterior political motive behind this film since it touches on the sensitive subject of religion. This is not just some typical run-of-the-mill romantic drama.
4) Hrithik Roshan- sizzle
5) You learn (a tad bit inaccurate) history along the way. It's based on true characters and historical facts, but hey! I've learned that inaccurate history is almost a prerequisite to film adaptation.
6) The choreography and cinematography is dazzling
7) The acting is generally very good.
8) The chemistry between the two leads is unbelievable.
9) HRITHIK ROSHAN!!! He is the only man with a mustache I think is gorgeous

Warning: There is lesser but longer singing and dancing segments than Langaan (see previous post).
Another warning: No animals were harmed during the making of this film, but I'm can't say the same for the humans. This is definitely NOT a PG film. There are a few war scenes.
Last warning: It is 204 minutes long. Trust me though, once you start you won't stop.

  2. You know what, I have no idea. it is the same director though, so maybe he has the penchant for directing looooong dramas. But you should check him out- his films (so far) are really good but long. Like Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, Inception)!
